Hi, I’m Avery Everett — a journalist based in San Antonio, Texas.

I currently report for the 10 p.m. newscast at KSAT 12 News, the ABC affiliate serving South Central Texas. As a multimedia journalist and reporter, I cover a wide range of stories Monday through Friday, from daily enterprise stories to longform reporting.

Before joining KSAT, I worked at KOMU 8 News in mid-Missouri, where I served as a reporter, anchor and producer. During my time there, my work was recognized with both a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation and a regional Mid-America Emmy.

I often get asked why I chose journalism — a field some consider a “dying craft.” But to me, journalism is very much alive. As long as there are truths that need to be told and voices that deserve to be heard, the work will remain vital. Storytelling is more than headlines or soundbites; it’s a responsibility to speak up, especially when it matters most. I’m proud to be part of that mission.
